Victoria eased her Marasai slightly and took careful aim as the battle quickly unfolded, if they wanted to get close they'd need to contain some key actors in play a job that Neston always seemed to attract to himself through some cosmic guidance. Whatever the case it was time to do some work and start shooting. "You've got bigger problems Gaspar 3 than a GM with a bazooka." With her Mega Beam Rifle ready to go Victoria lined up the shot on the Rick Dias that wanted Jamie's lunch money, with a slight adjustment she targeted the shoulder joint and by extension the arm that Hilda was using to fire her Clay Bazooka and let loose her shot.

While he was busy shooting at that red thing, one of the GM Quels had decided to target him, firing it's beam rifle at him. He barely had time to react to the attack, and as a result while he managed to save the torso, his machine lost it's left leg right above the knee. The machine he'd targeted fired at him as well, but he'd managed to avoid that one entirely at least. Even if it had gotten in the way last time, he was regretting the fact that he hadn't brought the shield along, but he knew he couldn't worry about it for now, not with two of these assholes after him already. "That's the first hit I took in this thing asshole. I'm not gonna let you get away with that one." he said to himself.
Unfortunately he knew that the bazooka wasn't going to help against two Titans while they closed on him at the same time, so Fred stored it on the rear hardpoint, before grabbing one of the beam pistols off the back in the left hand, and firing that weapon at his original target. He wanted to focus on that thing for now since it was the bigger threat, but he wasn't about to ignore the GM and grabbed his second beam pistol in the right hand before turning it on the approaching GM, and firing that weapon at the enemy GM in an attempt to at least slow it down.

Post by Julian Miller on Apr 30, 2015 4:11:35 GMT
Julian clicked his tongue against his teeth in irritation as his shot at the AEUG machine that had hit him went wide, missing it entirely. He still wasn't used to this new machine and the power of its weapon. Having spent years piloting nothing but the GM Quel he had become far too accustomed to it's style of control and combat. He hadn't had enough time to get used to this machine in either the simulator or in live exercises and now he was suffering for it. Actually the entire team seemed to be suffering for it.
And the situation, from what Julian could see, was only getting worse. Gage, Victoria, and Holcroft were doing their best to try and engage the enemy but Jaime had run off on his own and was now getting picked apart by the enemy. Regardless of their previous tension the sight brought him no sense of satisfaction. Something needed be done otherwise this mission was going to wind up as even more of a disaster.
++Ensign Neston, regroup with the rest of the team! Coordinate with Gage and Holcroft if you don't want to die!++
Though he realized that it wasn't really his place to give Jaime orders, after all they weren't even on the same Flight Team, the Australian pilot didn't even care. With things going as they were right now such formalities didn't matter. At the moment it seemed that the Goddess of Victory wasn't on their side which meant that they need to take survival into their own hands.
Returning his attention to the enemies directly in front of him, Julian refocused on the GM that had damaged his machine. It seemed the power of his rifle had spooked the pilot enough that he was now throwing his machine into a series of wild maneuvers to try and throw off his aim. It was going to make hitting him difficult but Julian wasn't going to back down from the challenge, even if his rifle only had one more shot left in it. Zeroing in on his target as best as he could and leading where he was predicting the AEUG pilot's movements to take him, he squeezed off another powerful blast in the hopes of finally landing a hit.

A lot of responses came in from his allies, but the upshot was pretty clear. “So that’s a pretty big fucking negative on cover fire then?”
Jaime’s answer was quick in coming. One of the red frames slid in front of him, brandishing one of those crazy close range guns. Jaime quickly raised his shield, catching the slug on the material, causing the shield to buckle but hold without the attack causing serious damage. But the pause left him vulnerable as yet another bazooka round slammed into him from the sniper. The blow shredded apart his shield and bypassed it, shredding his Quel’s right hand. And no one, fucking no one, bothered laying a hand on the bastard who was standing still the lay the lumber on him. ++Ensign Neston, regroup with the rest of the team! Coordinate with Gage and Holcroft if you don't want to die!++
Jaime twitched for a moment as he evaluated his options and ignored Miller’s advice, instead choosing something that seemed to make sense. Still, he couldn’t just let it go. No…he can’t possibly be that stupid… "Magi 2, I think we have a comms malfunction. I thought you said my response to having the shit shot our of me was to move further away from the target objective, head closer to the mob of bogeys while staying perfectly in the range band of that sniper while staying out of my weapon's effective range. Please clarify."
Instead, Jaime pressed on, entering the barest range to touch that sonuvabitch who had been laying waste to him. “Let’s see how you like it!” Jaime snarled, letting our a burst to shake the bastard, trying to give himself room to maneuver.

“That’s two for two.” The GM Rechts ejected the spent cartridge from its bazooka as it fished around for another to load in. Hilda’s own input into the firefight kept the flailing Quel in one place well enough for his own shot to hit home, ripping up its shield and the hand that held it. Maybe now the pilot would get the hint that he was about to enter a no-man’s land and go back with his friends. No, that was wishful thinking on Ben’s part apparently as the damn Titan kept pushing forward. I can’t believe what I have to put up with. Even now, the guy was still charging him. Was he trying to get himself killed?
“Somebody catch this nut, I’m trying to reload and reposition here,” he called out as the pink beams of a scattergun flashed by his cameras, forcing him to pull back from his more ideal position in the formation. He wasn’t in its real effective range right now but if the guy was so desperate to get close like this, it would just be a matter of time before he was. And obviously, Ben wanted absolutely no part of it. Not without a good round lined up anyway.

“Oh no you don’t!” In spite of everything, in spite of having been shot to shit, despite all the bad luck so far, Jaime found himself smiling. “You don’t get to shoot at me from across the battlefield and scurry away without a scratch just because you pissed yourself!”
Jaime pressed on, fueled by his anger, pushing past the initial AEUG group but still staying close, taking advantage of the lane he had created by heading closer to the planet’s surface. “Well, I was the big flashy distraction before…Gaspar 1, Gaspar 2, if they peel off to pursue to defend their rear guard that should give you an open shot to advance on the objective!”
The bastard he had been chasing seemed to be out of ammo and had scrambled backwards, looking to reload and line up another shot.
“Too bad!” Jaime peppered the guy with another round of fire from his beam spray gun, refusing to simply allow the bastard get another clean shot in on him.

Post by Katharyn Holcroft on May 2, 2015 3:22:11 GMT
A savage grin twisted Katharyn’s attractive face as her attack struck home, neatly blasting off the bastard’s leg. It wasn’t a kill shot, but it was something. Then the asshole stowed the bazooka and laid down fire aimed at her machine plus a Marasai he’d been engaging. “Motherf…” she growled, going instantly on the defensive. She had limited cover and she used it, combining quick bursts on the thrusters with her machine’s AMBAC maneuvering capabilities to move out of the pseudo-Dom’s line of fire and into cover, allowing her to avoid his attack. She made a split-second check of her instruments, and saw that she had succeeded in avoiding a hit. She also checked the other machine’s position. As much as she disliked the Marasai, a blue-on-blue would not be good, so she wanted to be completely certain that her teammate, whoever the hell it was - Gage, she thought, or perhaps Sinclair; she’d lost track - was well clear of her own line of fire.
But she stayed on that now-one-legged red sonofabitch. She leveled her own weapon a second time, and lined up a shot once again, targeting central mass. If she could nail the prick this time… She pulled the trigger.

Jim's eyes were still on the big bastard, the new threat still counterfiring him instead of going after the Rick Diases all around them. Which I oughta be grateful for, I suppose, since he can't seem to shoot for shit with that big gun of his he thought, snap-rolling out of another big, mean salvo of beam energy as the bastard whiffed. The snap-rolled dropped him into a textbook firing lane, thankfully, and as he lined up, a glance at his tac readouts showed that there was a leaker. "Steiner, hit the leaker going for Regard. Regard, skate right and continue firing" he snapped to his team.
Nothing good will come from the big bastard hitting you. That hasn't changed he knew, dropping into another series of erratic breaks as he lined up his shot. He locked in, squeezing his triggers as he wailed on the big guy again, more beam energy going straight for the prick. ______

Rick Dias Taurus Two
As her shot sailed wide, Hilda's eyes narrowed towards the little, suicidally overconfident prick that was charging right for their lines. Does he have anything but contempt for his own mortality? she wondered as she and Regard tag-teamed him to blow off his remaining leg and his shield arm. She smiled as he kept closing, clearly ignoring everything but Regard as he closed right into grips with her, Anderson, and Castle. Oh, you dumb shit, trying to solo 3 suits with minimal support she thought happily, stowing her clay bazooka and drawing both of her beam pistols. Anderson's voice rang in her ears, telling her to do what she'd already more or less decided to do and stick with Pretty Boy over there. Don't need to tell me twice, Anderson. He's going right for us she thought, dropping her pipper right on top of the prick and opening up with both pistols, fire slashing across towards the sucker as she kicked the Dias into a lazy drift left, leading her target and keeping Regard out of her firing lane.

GM Rechts, Taurus Three
“Already on it.” Pulling on the controls, Ben brought the Rechts around for a new bout of shelling as the same Quel, looking like a target practice reject, kept up the charge. Completely ignoring the three other Zodiac pilots directly in his way. He heard that “Who Dares, Wins” was a popular catchphrase in some old special-forces unit but he had a pretty good feeling that this wasn’t what they had in mind. But what did Ben know, outside of his time in the war, he was just a security guard with a giant robot as his sidearm.
Doing his best to ignore his new admirer, that he very much would like to blow away right this moment, Ben instead looked back into his scope for a target that wouldn’t risk hitting a buddy. The new model certainly looked pretty enticing but from what he could see, Jim had it all under control. Instead, he settled on the other Quel in their unit, the pilot having lined up a shot on Castle’s Dias. The Titan had missed but it was still a damn good choice from his position. Slowing his speed and lining up for a good vector of his own, he opened fire once more with an explosive shell.

"Neston! Evasive maneuvers! Now! I'm come into support!"
Gage was front and center to a massacre involving his partner. Desperation- that was a summation of his internal thoughts at that moment. The Marasai kicked up its boosters and picked up altitude and closed in on Jaime's attacker: Steiner. He cut loose with his beam rifle and engaged the beam saber with his opposing hand, hoping to interrupt any further thoughts of murdering his partner. That's right! I'm over here and coming right for ya!

He missed again. Of course he did. Once again Julian was regretting his lack of practice with ranged weaponry on the scale of this Hyper Beam Rifle and wished that he had been able to practice before hand. Hindsight was always 20/20 and for now he had little choice but to try and make the best out of a bad situation. And boy oh boy was the situation bad.
Completely ignoring his advice, Jaime had rushed forward into the jaws of death. The Ensign had even made a spectacle of pretending that there was some sort of radio malfunction between the two of them. But now he was paying for his desire to get in close so fast and was getting picked apart, forcing Gage and the others to rush in to his rescue and potentially put themselves in a vulnerable position as well. While Julian would've liked to help he had the GM-type in between him and the rest of the AEUG group which meant that he had to deal with him before he could even hope to assist his comrades.
Absorbed in his thinking, Julian almost paid the price of another hit. A blinking light on his console warned him that the GM-type had taken a shot and the Australian lieutenant was forced to make a frantic maneuver to dodge, the pink bolt of energy passing far too close to his machine for comfort. Throwing his Asshimar into a defensive roll to throw off any potential follow-up shots, Julian stored his empty rifle on its back and readied the Beam Assault System installed into its remaining forearm. Rather than bothering to reload the heavy weapon, he was was going to try out a more close-and-personal approach.
Maybe that would bring him a bit more success.

“Don’t fret, Anderson. I’ll be sure to crash and burn before any of my flight does.” Eddy’s tone was very matter of fact with a hint of sarcasm and distraction, for his attention was largely focused on the dull, light gray surface and scattered craters of the lunar surface. He reflected on the unconventional beauty of his homeland, this being the first time he’d returned to Luna since he joined the AEUG. He had two lines of thought running through his head: “intercept” and “home”.
The minutes seemed to pass with the tedium of an eternity as the six mechs continued their descent to the lunar surface, Eddy wondering what this latest skirmish would bring. Well, I only have Steiner and Regard to work with...but they’re both solid. Rey should do a good job covering the Polaris until this little shindig’s over. Shifting his gaze from his old stomping grounds to the scanner board, Eddy saw the targets closing rapidly. “Here we go.”
The shooting match began in earnest with the group splitting off and focusing on specific targets. Eddy heard Anderson’s voice coming through the COM, ordering him and Taurus Flight to go right for the jugular of the Titans formation – what little they had by this point – and leave them unbalanced. “Copy on all, Anderson, we’ll make them bleed.” Realizing he was still too far out of range for the clay shells to be effective, he switched out the clips in his bazooka, loading it with standard rounds.
Seeing that Hilda was getting badgered by a mobile suit identical in design to the one Ennis had piloted at South America, Eddy decided to get the spiky bastich off his teammate's back. Quickly lining up a shot, he pulled the trigger and fired a solid round straight at the Marasai’s general area. Okay, let’s see how pissed off this bogey gets...

Jaime’s Quel was being ripped to shreds in short order as yet another improbably well placed shot came in, his remaining leg falling off.
“I…I don’t think that’s an option Gage.” Jaime gripped the sticks a little tighter, hearing his voice shake a bit. The structural integrity of his Quel was reaching its breaking point in a hurry.”At this point, I think the only way out is through.”
There was another flare out of the corner of his vision, and a shout from Holcroft let him know that the sniper’s crazy streak was continuing. “Just let me take this one guy out. Just promise me…get out of this safe Gage. Make this count!”
Jaime continued to push his Quel past the enemy line, finally, finally hitting his ideal range on the sniper.
“Hello friend.”
Jaime opened up his beam spray gun on full, pouring as much fire as he could on his target, praying that he could end things here, and perhaps keep his teammates safe from the chillingly effective sniper.

Jim snarled as the bastard was right in hit targeting brackets, but managed to worm his way out. Bastard's good he cursed. It was then that the little idiot he'd assigned Hilda broke through and started wailing on Regard, while the new thing put a few rounds into Hilda. "Hilda, shift fire to the new unit on you. Regard, skate up max burn, I have the prick" he called, sighting in on the crippled Quel. He flicked his comms to widecast to taunt the Quel as he slammed a fresh e-pac into his rifle.
"Didn't anyone teach you not to try and solo 6 at a time, dumbass? I swear you Black Legs are slipping..." he said, tone full of dry contempt. His targeting brakcets jittered as he locked in on the sucker, flicking his comms back to squadron tactical. "Regard, let's finish this prick. Coordinate fire with me, I'll box him in" he called, selecting his rifle as he bored in, blasting away with his rifle as Ben setup for the double-team... ____
