GM Quel Melchior Three
A smile slowly formed across Julian's lips as he watched the sniper he had turned his attention to begin to charge in his own direction. What was with this dramatic change in tactics? Was he out of ammo? Or did he just want to try and finish Julian off in a more personal way? Either way it didn't matter, he was willing to take this pilot up on his challenge even if he was letting off an ineffectual spray of CIWS fire in his direction for whatever reason.
The warning tone of a lock-on coming from behind him announced to Julian what was really going on. The sniper was just trying to distract him so that his comrade could finish him off from behind! Snarling in frustration as his smile vanished, Julian jerked his controls to the side roughly in a move that caused is Quel to throw itself to the side. While the sudden movement jarred his machine, it allowed him to save himself from the beam shots that simply flew past him.
This wasn't good. He was getting sandwiched between two enemies with little hope of escaping at this point. The fact that the opponent approaching from behind was the pilot he had spare earlier only served to further his frustration. Julian wasn't one to typically show mercy to his foe but now that he had his reward was his decision coming back to bite him. If that was the case he was going to make the same mistake twice.
++Katharyn,++ yelled Julian over the comm to his wingmate, ++Keep the sniper busy! I've got a pest I need to deal with!++
With that he turned his machine and leveled his rival towards the on-rushing GM Recht.
"So you didn't get the message the first time, huh? Fine then! If you want to leave in a bodybag I'll be only too happy to oblige!"
As the thrusters on his Mobile Suit's back roared to life, Julian propelled himself towards his opponent. Drawing closer and closer, he let out a furious barrage with his beam-spray gun, seeking to further dismember his foe and leave them absolutely helpless. He needed to get as close to this other AEUG pilot as possible, making it impossible for the sniper to fire without potentially hitting a comrade. He wouldn't put it beyond the AEUG to kill one of their own but he was hoping to bank on at least a degree of humanity. In the meantime he just hoped that Katharyn pulled through. Otherwise he wouldn't last much longer.

Victoria scowled as the situation continued to deteriorate into a brawl, at this point they'd be lucky to pull back without getting destroyed. "Melchoir One we need to get out of here we're going to just be rounded up and blasted apart at this rate." With a quick yank on her stick Victoria tried to turn away from the enemy she'd been trading fire in their gunfight but she wanted to break it off and try and help her squad. Another boost out of the ground and she was sent flying through the canopy away from the Rick Dias but the explosion still hounded her and rocked the Marasai as Victoria tried to control her assent.
Orienting herself with the info based on her map she focused her attention on the mass of chaos going off hoping the more elevated angle, not that this whole adjustment was doing wonders for her accuracy. The brief point of time as she fell back down from the canopy and she could see her target didn't give her much time to line up a shot, but a good target presented itself in the form of another Dom look alike. Then just as soon as the shot came up Victoria landed on the ground and was within range with the brawl with her squad and Jamie's newest chew toy.

He could see that he had finally managed to damage the enemy machine, but it hadn't been enough to take it out, the pilot did seem to decide not to stick around with him though, as they'd gone into the air and went after Steiner's damaged machine. "Gemini One, you have another of those red machines after you from your four o' clock. He's trying to get away from me, I'm closing in to engage him now." he said to his team leader, he didn't want her getting caught off guard by this prick and get hit since he'd let the enemy get away from him like that.
Considering the enemy unit was moving in on some of his team, he knew better than to stick with the bazooka and so placed the large weapon on it's storage rack as his free left hand grabbed the beam pistol he'd first used and aiming the weapon at his original target, unlike the bazooka, this was a short ranged weapon but even so he wouldn't be able to use it freely as they got closer to the other AEUG machines, and even now he'd need to be careful with his shots.
So rather he made sure to aim at the enemy machine with as clear of a background as he could get, and took his time with the weapon as he fired off a couple of shots at the enemy unit. He wasn't about to expend the whole charge with allied units near his target, the only good thing was that a miss was more likely to hit a tree than an AEUG machine. He wanted to get up close and cut this fucker up, it was his best chance at not hitting another AEUG machine in this mess, plus this guy had seemed to want to maintain distance for a reason.

Well, so much for good luck! Eddy mentally cursed as he saw Ennis rebound from their brawl, shoot up into the skies above and fire off a shot at his Rick Dias. Tossing the now-useless clay bazooka into the path of the beam, he let the weapon take the shot and disintegrate in a burst of pink smoke and debris as he boosted over to the right and landed in a puddle of mud, splashing it all across the trees.
Before he could get another sarcastic quip in on the open COM, Eddy’s ears perked up as Chuck barked at the Titan pilot that had irritated him before. The more this guy talks, the more he’s becoming less and less a concerned civilian with drinking and authority issues... He hoped that back up in space Langstrom had begun the inquiry into Finley’s identity and come up with something solid.
“Time to get a little fancy!” Deciding to see if he could keep Ennis off-balance as he continued moving to join the others, Eddy selected the beam pistols and fired off a quartet of pink energy bolts at the crippled Marasai.

Marasai Melchoir OneA single energy bolt penetrated the below- dislocating the arm from its proper position. The mobile suit diagnostics told him what he already knew- it was now useless. They don’t make them like they used to. A familiar voice, a man or a fool, cracked over the comms. Ennis was prepared himself with a smirk. "And why should any of us trust the accusations of a traitor, Flying Tiger? Even if we could, if you have the truth why hide behind a fake name? Come on Anderson, step into the light if you're so righteous!"“Thank you sir…but sir, Gage needs help. I really hope that you have a plan sir, because we’re just tearing each other to pieces out here.”
”Negative, Neston. Stay on their ass until I give the say so, alright?!”They could route their targets if they kept up the attack. The last thing he needed was fleet footed ensigns. To keep his immediate opponent occupied, Ennis fired an aimed shot above and behind Eddy’s position. James intended to cut off his vectors. It would limit his options. Chuck permitted himself a fleeting moment of triumph as his fire slammed into the little prick's head, blasting it clean off and dealing enough damage to give him a minute to jump out of the bastard's range, thrusters flaring as he cleared that brutish point-blank combat. Of course, that didn't help as the other fucker jumped in and pressed his attack, swinging low. Chuck leaped back, scattering fire towards the bastard as he peeled towards Petrenko - and conveniently out of the way of the fire some other prick in the new red ones peppered his former position with.
It was then that he heard Ennis come back, and his face tightened as things he hadn't heard in a long time were brought up. He briefly closed his eyes as he kept his Rechts dancing, clearing the anger before he responded. "I don't care to be a lapdog working for a bastard that thinks using nerve gas on civvies is acceptable, Jimmy boy. Wake up and smell the bullshit already" he retorted, calling up the tac feeds for the squad. Not good... everyone is badly hit, ammo is low, and we won't be able to break through anything after these chumps to hit the pri-target he knew, making a call. "Steiner, we aren't cracking the base, no sense throwing good money in after the bad with all our BD and this low on ammo. All teams, consolidate on Petrenko and maintain a good counterfire, line of retreat zero-three-zero" he ordered, not even thinking that he was still just an Ensign here. Instead, he maintained his defensive battery on the guy who'd come after him, still falling back towards Marika's damaged unit.

Hilda smiled as her fire and Finley's neatly stitched up the arrogant little shit who'd been all over her face most of the day. She quit smiling as her alarms blared and a new player engaged her, a heavy round screaming towards her. She instinctively slammed a foot into her pedals and jammed the stick over, leaping away from the fire (and towards Petrenko), beam fire flaring below her. "L'Ciel, deal with that damned sniper" she called.
She then raised an eyebrow as one of the enemy responded to Chuk - again as if he knew the guy. Anderson? Flying Tiger...? she thought as Chuck apparently decided he had the authority to call a retreat. The damn thing is, again, the little snot's right she knew, biting her lip. "All teams, follow Finley's call" she called on the team tac net, opening a private line to Finley as she selected her other beam pistol. "Finley, when things calm down you and I need to have a little talk" she called, opening the range and sending rounds downrange. She saw Finley's fire staying with one, so she kicked back onto the other, engaging as she peeled out.

"Aww shit." Jaime found himself under fire from everyone and his uncle. He broke off he roll, desperately parrying a beam saber blow that was coming in from above. However, being immobilzed made him a rather easier target as fire rained in from his earlier target. It slagged the remainder of his crippled leg, stopping Jaime from even considering from persuing any offensive action.
"Taurus lead, I've been shot to shit. Requesting cover fire for retreat, over!"
Jaime pushed his thrusters to max, shoving himself off on a lurching arc similar to his previously damaged teammate.

Largely ineffective it had been in a conventional sense, the burst of CIWS fire had worked well enough as the one-armed Quel perked up once again and turned towards its charging opponent. It was exactly what Ben had been hoping for as he made his approach, cruising through the thick trees with the grace only a walking tank could provide. Having already become priority number one with the damage he was doing, Ben’s reckless charge was just the thing that would get him in the pilot’s sights for a good while and get his partner in crime some breathing room. And it’d put the both of them in a good way to get out of dodge, or at least get some amount of help when they inevitably would need it.
At least, that was the plan. And like many plans, this didn’t quite pan out how he had hoped. He had hoped Aluria would draw some of the other Titan’s fire for a few but she simply stayed on the original Quel. And this time, the guy wasn’t just ready with a rough dodge, he had apparently had enough with the harassment. And while not quite as dire, there was the sudden call for a retreat as well. With the one Quel right in the way of his path to the rest.
“Some cover would be pretty great right about now,” he called back, alarms flaring up as the wounded Titan’s partner came in from behind, staying with him. Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right. With a hard pull, Ben threw his Rechts into a sharp swerve and gunned his thrusters as hard as they could go, the sudden movement very well saving his life as a beam pierced the air where had been. He didn’t have the time to dwell on it, however, as his monitor lit up with the lights of a rough barrage on Aluria’s already damaged Rechts.
“Aluria, shows over!” Maintaining his speed as he came out of his swerve, Ben eyed the damaged Quel that he was coming up on as it fired away. It was so preoccupied with its prey that it had turned its wounded side Ben’s way, allowing for an easy shot if he had something more appropriate at this distance. But he didn’t have that luxury. Instead, he did what would be the next best thing if he were piloting something with an appropriate attachment for it.
Cruising in as fast as it could go, the Rechts pulled its weapon close and rushed in, shoulder first. It was a simple, textbook shoulder tackle. One that, apparently, was used quite a bit by the Zekes in the war and had quite an effect on those it hit. His Rechts wasn’t exactly hardy like the Zaku but it would have to be enough to get him through, even if he broke an arm in the process. All or nothing.

Eddy gave a quick, firm nod of satisfaction was one of the shots from his beam flurry struck true, disabling the Marasai's left arm and further hampering Ennis' ability to fight and defend properly. Of course, the good times didn't last as the old man wasted no time in countering with an aimed shot heading straight for the Rick Dias' head. Not wanting to get vaped into stardust just yet, Eddy hit his thrusters at full power, the blue flames burning the ground and evaporating the puddles of mud beneath the mech's feet as he jumped to the side, avoiding the beam by just a bare meter.
"Nice shot, old man! Even battered, you've still got the touch!" Eddy called out to Ennis over the open COM. Even though they were on opposing sides and their personal feelings toward one another were forever changed, that didn't mean he couldn't extend professional courtesy to his mentor. Of course, that was quickly tossed out the window as Finley replied to Ennis' taunt and all but confirmed Eddy's suspicions. Well, that's it. The suspension of disbelief has been blown. I can't wait to see how he tries to salvage his cover after this is over... As he heard Steiner's voice call out for everyone to follow "Finley"'s lead, Eddy felt the urge to call bullshit on the decision, but bit down and signaled in the affirmative. However, he did open a private COM line to Steiner and said quietly, "We need to have words after this turkey shoot, Steiner."
Holstering the beam pistols so they could cool down and recharge, Eddy pulled out a beam saber and positioned it toward the hovering Marasai, as if man and mech were challenging Ennis to swoop down towards them and join once again at close range.

Ennis scowled at Jim's latest outburst and Eddy's evasion both, dropping his beam rifle since he wouldn't have time to reload it.
"Man like Anderson wouldn't spook easy or buy rumors wholesale . . . damn, think on it later," he thought, drawing his beam spray gun and taking aim.
"Not bad yourself, Eddy. Damn shame about this," he told his former protege as he opened fire, quickly switching to the squadron-only channel. "Magi, this is Melchoir One! They're starting to fall back. Pour on the fire but do not, I repeat, do not pursue into the jungle! Stopping them cold is enough, let's not get killed by getting bloodthirsty."

Oh buzz off already! Gage couldn't contain his annoyance. This was getting out of hand. Then he realized that he completely emptied his beam spray gun. Just my luck. As a last resort, he chucked his beam saber at the Rick Dias and made his escape. It wouldn't even come close to hitting her, but it would make a great distraction.
"Magi, this is Melchoir One! They're starting to fall back. Pour on the fire but do not, I repeat, do not pursue into the jungle! Stopping them cold is enough, let's not get killed by getting bloodthirsty."
"Roger that lead- retreating."
The red mobile suit launched itself in reverse to make its escape. He didn't gain altitude in order to avoid becoming an airborne target. In another few seconds, he would be below the tree line and out of their line of site.

Fred was pissed that they were retreating, and while he could see that they had to, that didn't make him feel any better. If Taurus had actually given a damn about following orders and went through with flanking the enemy they wouldn't be in this mess, instead they had allowed themselves to be bogged down in a standup fight and even though the A.E.U.G. machines outnumber the Titan machines, apparently they had fucked up enough for a retreat to be necessary.
This was no way to fight, these fuckers were content to let the enemy dictate the battlefield and the tempo, even when it cost them every advantage they had, he had liked Chuck, but that asshole seemingly knew one of the enemy pilots and had clearly been lying about who he was, while LeNoire seemed more interested in talking to the prick than killing the enemy. "Roger Gemini One. Falling back." he said to Steiner before breaking off the pursuit of his target and following Steiner to cover Petrenko.
He then fired off the remainder of the charge in his beam pistol at his target to keep the prick's head down while he moved, he should have moved in earlier and killed this asshole when the enemy pilot had tried to keep the distance, now he was stuck retreating and trying to provide cover while his main weapon was on his back and needed to be reloaded anyway, and he had just finished off the charge of his only drawn weapon. He was just going to need to bring out his bazooka and reload it when he got the chance.

Katharyn let out a growl of frustration as her target dodged her attack and closed in on Miller. He was too close now, and she didn’t have a clear shot anymore. To make matters worse, Miller was also being engaged by a second AEUG machine.
Then life threw another one of those curve balls, as amidst the chaos of chatter on the radio lines, she heard two words she instantly recognized, and then she heard the name, and she knew whose voice it was.
“Jim Anderson? It CAN’T be…what the hell is he doing with…” She hadn’t known Jim Anderson well, but they had worked well together, and he’d saved her ass in their last engagement in the Hurricanes. So the idea that he could be a traitor rattled her. She heard Anderson say something about using poison gas on civilians, which was so patently ridiculous that she instantly dismissed it.
But the simple truth was, Anderson was a traitor. The very idea hurt, and she felt rage boiling in her, rage that she channeled instead towards her target, the second mobile suit that was engaged against Julian. She raised her beam rifle, aimed it at the enemy mobile suit, and cut loose with a volley aimed straight at the enemy machine.

”Fire!”
March 11th, UC 0087. The AEUG boldly inaugurated its plan to seize Jaburo. Three battle groups, the combined fighting force of the AEUG fleet, descended onto the Amazons shortly after sunrise. The 15th Tactical Mobile Suit Squadron commanded by Lieutenant Commander James Ennis successfully repelled the attempt to knock out the anti-air defenses. Consequently, the AEUG suffered heavy casualties during the drop. Even with its missile batteries intact, the garrison forces were ill prepared to take on a strike force of such magnitude.
Those within were immediately captured. Those without fled the area to the adjacent jungles, where the fighting spread. Within the confusion, there remains no clear testimony for what happened next. The Minovsky jamming prevented the distress signals from reaching all of their forces. In an instant, they were annihilated along with the defending garrisons.
From the perspective of the survivors, a bright flash was succeeded by a sound of distant number. The ground rumbled, the trees shook violently, the dust in the air mocked the suns presence. They had entered an event horizon, a point of no return. Everything had changed, the situation was no longer indifferent.
Even without definitive answers, history must move forward- for the dead are no substitute for the living when turning its pages. Simultaneously, emergency sessions were called by the respective assemblies on Amman and Dakar. Defense Secretary Dominic Salazar prepared his case against Jamitov Hymem. Meanwhile, Commodore Blex Furor summoned Kowen and O’Sullivan to discuss plans for opening talks with the Earth Federation- before it was too late.
