Rui frowned as her fire sailed wide, then let herself feel pride as Hilda's fire landed on target. 2 on 1... nice she thought. That drunken lout then started calling orders towards her, and while she wasn't keen on listening, Steiner seemed OK, and he definitely needed a hand...and apparently doesn't care that he's right on top of the Black Leg she figured. "Watch your hide, Chuck" she called as she dropped her pipper over the new model GM. Aim and fire... she thought, bounding to just about the right range as she opened fire, beam rounds streaking downrange...

GM Quel Gaspar 3
Jaime was a little surprised as he missed his swipe, but as he completed his spin he noted the reason why: his opponent had pushed to a maximum burn at an off angle to push away from him as a last ditch effort. Clever move.I should remember that. They looked like easy prey for a next assault, but that was not to be. A quick glance during his spin had forced him to notice that Gage was now being double teamed by the same duo that he had faced a short while ago, and Gage had taken quite a bit of damage in rushing in. While a kill was tempting, they were outnumbered and losing a squadmate…well, that was worth spending some time defending.
“”Don’t overdo it Jaime” he says.” Jaime allowed himself a snort as he recalled his wingman’s cautious rebuke earlier in the battle as he continued to mutter to himself. “Because Jaime is clearly going to do something completely rash, and stupid and-“
Jaime suddenly had to leap back, going through a series of evasive maneuvers to not get dead as the guy from before swooped in, peppering the area with beam fire. The smart thing to do would have been to just retreat as planned. But the voice was familiar, and Jaime suddenly left a surge of anger burn through him, and electric shiver running across his nerves and he couldn’t let hypocrisy like that stand. Ignoring his better judgement, Jaime hit the line for an open channel.
“I’m sorry, did I miss something between the part where “the kid” climbed into a war machine worth millions, joined an invasion force and starting gunning for my wingman? Because, let’s be frank here, I don’t really give a fuck about what happened up until then.”
The enemy had set themselves between Jaime and his previous opponent. Out of position for a run at the downed soldier, Jaime carefully edged around, trying to figure out his footwork for the next strike. His eyes alighted upon the dropped beam rifle and an idea slowly began to form…but he needed his opponent distracted. “I recognize that voice. You’re the one who told be to forget Side 2…you know I’m actually a little surprised that you decided to attack a military target instead of just massacring civilians or jumping cargo ships. It’s a nice change to see you trying a fair fight instead of just running away after your ambush.” Jaime tried, and utterly failed at containing his loathing, mockery and disdain in his words.”You must have burned down an orphanage to get your courage up.”
Jaime settled his foot close to his desired target and cut the line for a moment, allowing himself a deep breath. This was going to be the moment of truth. Jaime pushed his throttle to full on his right leg…before slamming on his other set of thrusters, sending him at a perpendicular angle as he took a swipe with him beam saber at his opponent’s head, starting to turn and run. Hitting his opponent was a longshot, but if it bought him time to get back to Gage, it was worth it. Jaime dug his beam saber into the ground, the plasma upturning the earth and gradually pushing him and he worked his 180, trying to catch up with Gage.
Pleased himself, Jaime went back online again. “But we do want to keep our people safe. So run and hide asshole. Run and hide. Crawl back to whatever little hole in the ground you were hiding in, and stand back while we actually protect people from scum like you.”

GM Rechts, Gemini Three
Ben whistled as the explosive shell sailed home, its payload shattering the GM Quel’s shield with ease and sending the Titan reeling. The black and blue machine may still be kicking but it was definitely what Ben liked to see. The playing field was leveled out a bit, a fellow pilot got the breathing room she very much needed and an enemy pilot was likely fuming at his interference. All in a day’s work. Why it even reminded him of how things were back on the North American front. Just, this time, he was a much better shot with a bazooka. And his merry team was a bit all over in terms of, well, teamwork.
They’re not much better though, he noted as he snuck a glance at the Titan’s buddy that had been tailing him. They’d followed him pretty far instead of helping each other out. That would be changing in no time. Not with that Titan he blasted charging in and making a beeline right for him, turning away to take a series of potshots.
“What’s the matter, struck a nerve?”
The image of the Quel registering clear as day in the Rechts’ own camera, Ben followed the machine along in its approach, recalling the little things he observed along the way up to this point. An up close and personal guy with the reflexes to back it up. An eye on the prize for a real threat as well. Well, sort of. Still a bit fixated on Aluria there although Ben was rather appreciative of her harassment fire.
“That’s it, right this way. Make this easy for me,” Ben smirked, firing off yet another destructive shell. At this rate, they might actually able to force their way through.

Rick Dias Taurus Leader
The Rick Dias’ right shoulder slammed hard into the Marasai’s chest, throwing Eddy against the shock harness as the impact rocked both mechs. In the confusion created, he swung his beam saber downward, carving a gash from the right chest vent to the lower waist, cutting the power cable in half. As a small explosion further rocked the Marasai around and bathed it in a small cloud of pink smoke, the Rick Dias pulled back a couple meters with beam saber and clay bazooka in hand, ready for another go at his former mentor.
“I’m surprised you’re still standing, old man. That mech must have a hide of pure gundarium.” Then he heard Steiner and Finley’s voices calling out for him over the COM, snapping him back to what was really important. “Copy that, Gemini Lead. And Taurus Two, we can always change places if that suits your fancy.” Needing to incapacitate Ennis at the very least before backing away, Eddy raised his clay bazooka and fired off the last shell left in the magazine as he prepared to join the growing mess.

Marasai Melchoir One
Not a chance in hell! Ennis was fuming. The hole in his torso let some of that heat dissipate, fortunately. Unfortunately, the Marasai was forced to a prone position after impact. The commander thrust his sticks forward, forcing his agile red mobile suit skyward. It was time to turn the tables. There was a gaping hole in their plan. Specifically, the amount of fire they were taking from Regard.
"Get some fire on that sniper! Don't leave Gaspar team exposed! Jaime, I've got your back."
The rest of the team was engaging in close quarters. That was going to make staging a retreat difficult, if necessary. He would have to watch the momentum from hereon. For now..! His attention turned back to Eddy, who was below and in front of him in the treeline. Eddy probably already discounted the idea of re-engaging his opponent. Ennis could use that to his advantage.

Katharyn at least had the satisfaction of seeing her target’s shield rendered useless, though she wished she’d been able to kill the bastard. She ejected her rifle’s spent e-cap and immediately set about reloading it, at the same time holding her shield defensively in front of her to protect both her machine and said rifle. But she moved cautiously forward, closing the gap between her and her target, trying to flank him while his attention was on Miller’s machine. She had no illusions about actually damaging the enemy, not with vulcans at that range. But the intention was to distract him, since he seemed so intent on engaging against Miller, to either create an opening the latter would be able to use, or else keep him and the other enemy unit from double-teaming her teammate. So she opened fire, unleasing a volley from her machine's 60mm head-mounted vulcan guns.

GM Rechts Taurus Two
I've always hated this nasty, up close business he cursed as the other guy neatly ducked out of his fire lane. Adequate. Could be good with some work he mused, wondering who his opponent was. The open comm line quickly removed all doubt who it was, as he recognized the voice taunting him over the comm line. Some time ago, that would have mattered less than nothing to him. But a lot had changed in Chuck since 30 Bunch.
He snarled in pure, unadultered fury at the kid's comments, charging in half-cocked like some damned fool. He quickly spotted his mistake, though, as the other guy swung a beam saber for him. Well, shit he figured, slamming his mobile suit onto one knee and stowing his rifle. The beam saber coming for him took his head clean off as Chuck overshot, momentum carrying him past the other guy and leaving Petrenko exposed - if Chuck didn't act fast enough. Which he did
Chuck had rotated his unit around in that time, ending up on his feet pointed right back at the bastard. Backup systems kicked in as the main camera feeds cut off and Chuck responded. "Boy" he said, voice shaking with barely-restrained anger. "What do you think happened to Colony 30? And ask your boss the Headhunter what happened to a Titan named Rick Nero when he refused a direct order from Bask the Bastard to fire on an unarmed transport" he said, cutting the channel as his monitors came back on and the beam saber in his remaining hand ignited.
With that, he fired his engines, thrusting directly at the bastard. Chuck's unit howled forward, saber poised and ready to strike. Of course, that was the feint - Chuck reversed the saber and cut his engines at the last possible minute, bringing his feet up in a maneuver that was expertly timed as he moved to kick the son of a bitch. The second he was down, though, his saber was up and swinging, cleaving a path straight for the little bastard.

GM Quel Melchior Three
An alarming tone caught Julian's attention as he drew in closer to the AEUG machine with the bazooka. Despite all of his best efforts it seemed that the pilot he'd decided to spare seemed to be intent on abusing his kindness. Didn't they know when to quit or were they like the typical Zeke zealot that was only too happy to throw their lives away? Either way it didn't matter all that much to Julian, it being rather simple for him to avoid such simple panic fire.
Still, even as he avoided the beam weapon fire the true threat to his safety quickly made itself known. An explosion suddenly rocked his Mobile Suit as a bazooka shot landed home. The explosive munition made quick work of the GM Quel's armor, sheering off his machine's empty arm just as he finished avoiding the other GM Recht's weapon fire.
"Shit," Julian hissed to himself, "That was careless of me!"
This sniper was good, really good. The fact that he had managed to hit not once but twice was proof of that. Though he was drawing closer in on the enemy machine at this rate he'd be picked apart bit by bit before he even got there. It had been a long time till Julian had felt so helpless. It seemed that not all AEUG pilots were absolutely hopeless.
Fortunately he wasn't alone. The sight of beam rifle shots flying towards the sniper was proof that Kathryn was still trying to close in on the bazooka-user as well. Good. If they could split the AEUG pilot's attention between the two of them then there'd be a much better chance of taking him down. It was annoying that he had been put into a situation such as this but he would look forward to venting his frustrations once he came within range of his foe.

GM Rechts, Gemini Three
The cockpit monitors lit up once again as yet another shell erupted into a fiery explosion, the carefully aimed shot slamming its target. Though he certainly had Aluria’s support to thank, it was still a good feeling to land another good one on that same Titan. Admittedly, said feeling was dampened somewhat as the pilot had come out quite alive but it was still a sight to see. At the least, he had managed to blown one of its arms clean off and trap him between the two GMs. If they kept it up, they’d be rid of one Titan and they could deal with the other in quick succession before catching up with the rest of the gang.
The gang that was, as before, still pretty far off from their current position. Or at least Ben’s. He could barely make out what was happening out there but given the constant thruster flares, they were still tussling up a storm. Good to know but he really should get back there. If one of them got tripped up, there’d be no daring rescue.
“Oh, go away already,” he spoke, glaring at the approaching Quel as it fired its vulcans, the rounds landing with little impact. It was barely any support but it would be the start of a long line of problems for him. They needed to bail. He needed to bail. He didn’t want to end up caught between both Titans, especially that aggressive one.
Slamming yet another cartridge into the bazooka, the Rechts’ thrusters fired up and shot the machine forward. Right towards the slightly disarmed Quel that he knew was pretty good up close and personal. While he was a scrub. With an unwieldy bazooka. What a terrible idea.
“Aluria, we need to regroup. Keep the other one off me!”
Closing the gap, he opened fire with his own vulcans, the counter running very fast towards zero as it burned through the last of its reserves. A straight line may be the fastest but damn was it dangerous.

Jaime was slightly surprised to hear the Commander radioing that he could expect support incoming…not that he minded at the moment.
“Thank you sir…but sir, Gage needs help. I really hope that you have a plan sir, because we’re just tearing each other to pieces out here.”
If he was surprised at his commander’s reply, he was even more shocked at what his opponent said. No, that wasn’t it…it was the way that he said it, full of conviction and fire and a sense of morality. For a second, Jaime felt a pang of sympathy was a poor bastard. A lot of vets had gotten a rough go, and had fallen in with AEUG scum, not that it excused what they had done. But it helped his eye off the ball for a moment as he missed a feint, a leg snapping forward and colliding with him main camera. The momentum span him as Jaime pushed his thrusters to full burn in the second that he was blind, using his beam saber as a last ditch maneuvering tool to move across the battlefield as he waited for his backups to boot.
The backups activated a painful few seconds later, the image grainy as the inferior cameras tried to compensate. He was close to Gage now…
Well, things have been going pretty well when I haven’t been thinking things through. Why stop the trend?
“Gage! Hamstring on your mark! I go low you go high!”
Pantomiming how off balance he was, Jaime shoved his thrusters into a lurch, strangely similar to the move the crippled MS had done moments before. He Quel tumbled and rolled, his beam saber slicing dangerously low as it tried to clip the red Zeke that had been going after him earlier.

Marasai Gaspar TwoNo amount of armor was going to save someone in close quarter combat. Both attacks simultaneously connected with each other- leaving gage without a left arm and Hilda without a clay bazooka and a beam pistol. The Marasai flew right past the AEUG machine immediately after the hits connected. I can’t say that I knew that was going to happen. Maybe I should call a mulligan.“Gage! Hamstring on your mark! I go low you go high!”
Jaime’s ardor brought him back to planet Earth. He glanced over at the maverick. Crazy half-cocked sonovabitch. Hilda was right on him. Gage had no room to hesitate. With its thrusters blazing, the Marasai made a bunny hop to get a vantage just above Jaime’s position. Chuck could see the red mobile suit, above and in front, pop out with its rifle poised. ”I’m on it! Katharyn Holcroft had long since gotten into the habit of ignoring radio chatter in battle that was not a direct communication from her CO or one of her teammates. So in her previous engagements, including this one, she had paid little to no heed to what went out outside of the battle itself. But this time, something was different. Over the chaos, she heard a voice mention Colony 30 - which she knew had been devastated a few years earlier, though she had never heard more than vague rumors of some disease that had wiped out the colony’s population. But in the same, she heard a name she knew.
Rick Nero had been the CO of the Hurricanes, until he was rotated out; she had come in at the same time as the new CO, a second-rate officer called Nanaki, whom Katharyn had despised. She'd never met Nero, but she knew his reputation, and knew that he'd been a far superior officer to his replacement. ‘How the hell does a Zeke-loving traitor know about Nero?’ she wondered. And then something occurred to her that was even worse. The voice sounded familiar. ‘No. It can’t be…’ she thought.
She instantly snapped back to the battle, berating herself for getting distracted, but her target wasn’t shooting at her. Instead, it was closing in on Julian, and as she moved to maintain range, she shifted her position, giving her a perfect shot at the little bastard’s back. Katharyn double-checked her vectors to make sure that Miller was clear of her line of fire - he was. Then she leveled her reloaded rifle, targeted, and fired.

Marika groaned not happy about the condition she was in nor the fact she crashed her GM again, at this point she would've burned the damned thing herself but it was her only ticket getting away from danger so it'd have to wait. "Draw west he says." After trying to shake the weariness from her mind Marika got the GM to prop itself up as she laid down a waypoint. "I'll cover he says, hope he can cover while I hobble back." Frustration at this point was at it's boiling point and she really just needed to get away from this disaster.
Powering down her beam sabers Marika was forced to head west like offered in a crawl, otherwise she would be simply 'walking' on the GM's knees probably not any faster at that. All the while Marika told herself when this was over, she was going to find the biggest gun she could and strap it to whatever mobile suit she got after she got this wreck back.

Rick Dias Gemini One
Hilda was still pissed about her bazooka and pistol, but she had one weapon left, plus her sabers. Those made a good accounting of themselves as they neatly cleaved an arm off the other prick, and she heeled her unit over for an immediate reattack. The trouble was that he seemed more interested in Finley, and she quickly ended up with a face full of the smartass that had been on Finley. "Finley, shift to the new thing" she called as she kicked her own attention over.
Well, looks like we do this the hard way... and like he didn't get the support he wanted she thought as he actually took his unit to the deck. Fucking rookie she thought, easily sidestepping his saber strike, her Rick Dias leaping into the air on a low-powered thruster jump after him. Unlike the idiot attacking her, who seemed convinced that he was the hero of his own personal action movie and that no harm could come to him, her movements were efficient, wasting no movement or energy. Before he could pick himself up off the deck - hell, before he's even finished that idiotic roll - she was already crashing down right on top of him, saber pointed down as her feet led to stomp him before he could get up. A thin smile crossed her face as she hoped this would be it as her saber snaked down towards the prick...

Aluria smirked as her fire again let Regard's long shots score on target. "Nice shot Ben!" she called. She was less thrilled about how the bastard he'd tagged was moving closer to Ben's unit. Can't let him get in the sniper's face, not can I? she figured, pressing ahead towards him. She saw Petrenko bugging out, but paid it no mind as she ducked out of the way, the prick sending fire her way. Nothing was remotely close, though, and she pressed to target as they progressively closed on Ben. Elevating her spray gun, going in tight and cutting loose with a burst of fire as she tried to cut him off.
