Marasai Melchoir One
Two extra hours of slogging through the nighttime jungle went from frustrating and tedious to exciting and potentially deadly in less than a second. Beam fire was burning its way through the trees over near Gaspar and what Ennis was pretty sure was Gage's machine in particular.
"Gaspar's found friends. Holcroft, Miller, we're going to swing around and contact front!"
The Marasai skidded to a stop and dropped onto one knee as an AEUG heavy burst through the foliage at close range, weapons blazing Gaspar's way, and if the shaking of the trees was any indication then it wasn't alone. Ennis swung his beam rifle into position, spent just long enough targeting the enemy to notice and recognize the insignia it wore, then pulled the trigger.
"Control, we have enemy contact, Numbers unknown but both teams are engaged! Miller, get in there! Holcroft, keep your eyes peeled for more of the bastards!"

GM Quel Gasper 3
It was only the barest of warnings that let Jaime know that anything was going on, even if he was in the middle of a patrol. The repeated days had dulled his senses, but only for a moment as fire suddenly spilled out of the forest.
Forcing his Quel into a march, remembering the full grav sessions of practice, Jaime pushed into a wooded thicket, hoping to give a semblance of defense in the dense vegetation. Beam weapons, while terrifyingly useful on direct hits, never seemed quite as scary when you got cover groundside.
“Mayday, mayday, we have multiple enemy contacts inbound. This is Gaspar Three, requesting immediate support on our position, over!”
The brief moment of cover gave Jaime the chance to appraise the situation for a moment as one of the GM ripoffs from the last battle emerged from the treeline, focusing his fire on Gage while…
While….
The machine from the last battle rained fire on him. The machine that had dishonored him, that had humiliated him.
“Oh you son of a bitch!”
His fear forgotten for a moment, Jaime pops up from behind his cover to lay down a stream of fire with his beam spray gun, starting with the first unit that had appeared, and continuing on the Zeke special he knew too well. Shots would rain on his shield as he fired, not caring at the moment.
“Gage! You fuck that son of a bitch close to you while I have the chance to give it, you hear!” Jaime’s eyes settled on a specific machine. “I have a debt to pay.”

Marasai Gaspar One
Victoria rubbed at her eyes softly and glanced as she passed another mud pit unsure how many this made now. All she knew is she liked it better when she was flying over the trees even if there were all sorts of scary things hiding under the canopy. At the very least then she could burn away at the first sign of trouble. This however was down and dirty where you were liable to run right into something. "Lets keep staying sharp, we might spot a tiger soon sure that'll be worth a penny to someone stuck in space." Anything at this point to keep everyone's eyes open was need
That feeling of tiredness naturally fell away when she saw the green colored GM that belonged to the AEUG. "Enemy spotted! AEUG GM type mobile suit!" Lifting her new weapon up Victoria tried to get a bead on the fleeing GM when a familiar sight from the combat footage from the last battle barreled in. It was the Rick Dom lookalike but it looks like it could do just as well down on Earth. Fire coming down on the enemy from other units told her that Melchior was on it's way. "Stay tight people, Melchior is on route and we do not want to get in their line of fire, keep them at range!" Leveling out her new rifle, Victoria targeted the GM trying to get away and had come to disrupt Gage's first drive with his Marasai.
With a steady lead and a good ranged weapon in hand Victoria was fairly confident in the ability to hit although the range was a bit too close for her comfort. Never the less it was good to have quality equipment in hand and she smirked as she fired her Mega Beam Rifle.

GM Recht Taurus Four
The flurry of activity quickly sparked Marika's attention as her eyes narrowed as all the targets began popping up and beams began trading back and forth. Not too fun for Chuck but the girl moved her own Recht forward with her beam rifle ready and shield up. "Chuck you gotta pull back until everyone else moves up!" Pressing forward to try and back her squadmate up and not to mention draw some fire, the girl paused for a split second at the sight of more mono-eyes, the only problem was they were shooting at the AEUG's mobile suits. "They got new suits! The hell is this, more mono-eyes too!" The rough man's more professional outburst hanged over the girl's mind but she put off the quip for now and leveled her rifle out to add her own flames into the inferno.
Two of the new units were already in front of them along with a GM and then fire coming from the side at Hilda, real fun. At this point Marika wanted four arms and a gun in each but that was talk for later, when they were out of the god forsaken trees.

Rick Dias Taurus Leader
Oh, for God’s sake! As the Rick Dias stepped into another particularly messy mud pit, Eddy got a rude reminder of the one thing he hated about South America: the terrain. It was impeding their progress to target and with a mission like this, lost time was something they couldn’t afford to accumulate. I hope the terrain inside Jaburo’s perimeter is as friendly as– “Contact south!” Rapidly, Eddy’s train of thought was broken by Finley’s sudden call of encroaching hostiles.
He listened carefully to Chuck’s following transmission, acknowledging the number of likely Titans they would face and recognizing the terminology he spoke with a sigh. The more I listen and pick up, the more I’m starting to think Ennis didn’t just toss this my way just to screw with us... “Copy your last, Taurus Two, Gemini Lead. Let’s be sure to break through these bastiches fast!” As the Rick Dias clutched onto a clay bazooka, Eddy scanned the battlefield to find the right target to try it on. It didn’t take him long.
I see he’s still the same, still brazenly painting his insignia onto whatever mech he’s piloting... Of course Eddy was one to talk as the right shoulder of his Rick Dias sported a laughing skull backed by two flaming saxophones. Taking great care not to get Steiner caught in the crossfire; he aimed the clay bazooka and fired off one of the new clay rounds at the enemy mech.

GM Quel Melchior Three
The oh-so distinct sound of weapons fire caught Julian's attention even before Ennis and the others alerted him to the fact that they had made contact with the enemy. He had been expecting this all along, as if he had felt it coming, and his blood was already beginning to rush with excitement. It had been far too long until he had been face to face with the enemy like this. The fact that he was fighting once again on Terra Firma brought back flashbacks of the One Year War to Julian's mind. In a strange way it felt familiar and comfortable for him.
A smile appeared on his face as he gripped his controls tighter, jumping into action the moment his team leader gave him the go ahead. Rather than replying his understanding over the radio he decided it would be best for his actions to speak for him. As he came decided his plan of attack, he came to a quick realization. The fact that many of the enemies seemed to be targeting Ennis meant one of two things: Either it was simply dumb luck by enemies who didn't know they were attacking their unit's commander or they knew who Ennis was. Perhaps these were the same AEUG pilots the team had failed to defeat before.
That'd be some pretty dumb luck, huh, he thought to himself.
Taking advantage of his position on the team's extreme flank, his GM Quel let out a blast of fire from its thrusters. Rather than flying up into the air where it certainly would've become an easy target, the Titan's Mobile Suit smashed through a barrier of trees with a loud crash, its feet digging deep trenches in the mud of the amazonian jungle floor as it brought itself to a halt in a position flanking one of the AEUG's Dom-types that was trying to shoot at his commander.
"I've waited so long," breathed Julian excitedly as he opened fire on the enemy machine, closing the distance between the two of them, "I've waited so long to meet you, AEUG! Make sure you show me a good time!"

Rick Dias Gemini Two
Fred had forgotten just how boring it was to travel to an objective this way, granted space was worse but this was still pretty bad. It wasn't intolerable, just tedious and it felt slow due to the terrain. They still had some distance to go when he heard Chuck call out enemy units along with hearing the shots as they started. He followed Steiner's machine, and due to the terrain he knew the enemy would be close, so he grabbed one of his beam pistols in the left hand as he followed her in. When he saw the enemy start to fire back, it seemed that Chuck and Steiner were popular with the enemy units once again, the enemy had new models as well, as he saw a red Dom-like unit, as he had a new machine himself Fred decided to go after one of the new enemy units.
He wasn't sure if using a beam weapon in Earth would be very different compared to space, but he was sure that he'd miss the firepower of his old GM Rifle since most beam weapons he had experience with seemed to be precision weapons, and lacked the fire rate of the ballistic weapons he was used to. Unlike space, there was a lot more to use as cover here, so more ammo and a higher fire rate would be nice, but then again he could land hits with a bazooka in Australia, and hits with the beam pistols would be slightly eaiser than that.
The enemy unit he decided to engage had fired at Chuck, but was close to the one Steiner had engaged, he knew better than to break off from her just to shoot at an enemy unit, that was a good way to get stranded, which was a good way to end up dead. So he stuck near her as he moved to effectively engage the enemy unit. He then brought up his beam pistol, and fired off the entire charge in the weapon at the enemy machine. He wanted to save his bazooka for the objectives and in this close range, with this terrain, he knew that he'd have issues aiming the larger weapon at a Mobile Suit. Even so, he hadn't meant to fire off the entire thing, but he hadn't had many chances to practice with the weapon, and was still getting used to the beam pistols compared to his previous beam weapons.

GM Rechts, Gemini Three
After two hours of marching through the Amazon they still hadn’t reached their target and he was honestly starting to wonder if they’d reach it at all before the drop started up. Or if they’d see anything at all for that matter given how congested their route was. Nothing but patches of swampland, left over debris from Zeon’s attempted invasions, and a lot of wildlife. And a temperature that made him glad he served in North America during the OYW and had climate-control in his mobile suit for the current one. I wouldn’t wish a patrol out here on anyone, Titan or not. It’d be a nightmare.
Pushing past a set of trees, Ben eyed his display, noting everyone’s positions. Taurus was leading the way and given that the only method worth using was visual, they’d be the first ones to run into any trouble that came their way.
“Speak of the devil,” he mused at Chuck’s sudden call out, hefting up his hyper bazooka. He could see Chuck already rushing past whoever he ran into and streaks of fire in the night to accompany his assessment. An assessment with some very specific terminology that was second nature to Ben after joining the Federation back in '79. Three-plus he says, probably two squads of three or four if I had to guess. Solid set up.
Eyes peeled for movement, and not wanting to fire without a care to who was in the way, Ben watched for any hiding Titans lurking in the dark for an opportunity. And true to form, he wouldn’t have to wait long as one of them came charging through, the flash of thrusters and smashing of trees giving him a clear sight on his angle as he gunned for Eddy’s Dias.
“Watch yourself, LeNoire, you got one on your flank!” Swinging around its bazooka on the rushing Quel, Ben planted his suit’s feet in the mud and zeroed in for a nice good shot before pulling the trigger.

GM Rechts Gemini Five
Rui screwed up her face, her visor sitting up and exposing her senses to the cockpit air. The cockpit itself was exposed to the air around them, the vents in the suit open to allow for air circulation. And the smells that came in with them were just..."ugh," she muttered to herself, "can't believe earth smells like this. Hope it's just this place." Being a spacenoid, Rui'd never been to earth; and having lived her entire life in the colonies, she was unused to the smells of uncontroled nature. "Fucking stinks."
As she got all her frustrations off her chest, her voice was replaced by the gentle hum of her mobile suit. Her eyes glanced around, looking for anything that looked like a twenty meter tall humanoid mecha waist-high in trees. 'Three plus contacts', the news came over her coms, partially covered by minovsky-based static. Rui's heart skipped a beat, her body stiffening as her first real fight started. Her eyes darted from her half-useless radar across her panoramic monitor and back, looking for the Titan suits.
THERE! She caught a glimpse of the nearest Titan suit, a model she didn't recognize. Fuck, too close! she swore in her head, jerking at her controls to try and buy some space between her and the enemy, try and get to a range she was more comfortable with. She pulled her shield up in front of her, keeping an eye on everyone through the optic slit as she tried to get some space while hopefully getting them to waste some shots.

After a rather uneventful planetfall Aluria found herself with the rest of her team trudging along towards their objective. "Assisting with an assault on Jaburo for your first mission? What have you gotten yourself into, Aluria?" A moment after thinking that she agreed with herself that it was still better than being stuck in a dead end assignment just sitting by allowing the world to move on in a worse direction. As she finished the thought however, Chuck, Taurus Two called out enemies. Before long the shots started flying and Aluria was determined to make it out of this with her new friends intact.
Edward Lenoire , her new team leader quickly quickly came under fire, "Nope, not today!" She said as she took quick aim at the suit that opened fire on LeNoire with her beam rifle. Then quickly her thrusters ignited as she attempted to close range on her target, she drew her suits saber.

Marasai Gaspar TwoWith only a second to react, Gage raised his shield to block the incoming blow. The Marasai physically hunkered down as shots pelted it from its right flank. Successfully, the shield deflected the majority of attacks aimed at the torso and head- leaving some scarring on the leg from the deflections. "I already think this machine is an improvement."Its shield offered much better protection than the HiZack, and that was just one of its perks. After a small leap, it launched into the air with engines blazing. Rick Dias Gemini One
Hilda watched her target duck into the trees, the lighter pistol fire whanging off his shield and the trees. Figures. Well, the point here was to break up this fist of units, and that was accomplished. And now their answer... she grimaced, as not one but two units cut loose with everything they had on her - and one of them was firing in volume. Hilda slammed her unit over, boosting with only her port engines - flipping the Dias out of the path of the shooter with the rifle while the spray gun fire hailed onto her shield.
"Four of them here, at least two more moving to flank. Gemini, base of fire, Taurus, see if you can whip around their right flank" she called into her mic as she stuck the landing. She quickly housed one of the pistols and pulled for her saber. A quick look up showed the new-model unit drawing eight kinds of fire, and her wing was making intelligent use of its positioning - except the new kid. "L'Ciel, cover me" she snapped, pressing her advantage on the other unit - the one that was hammering away with a spray gun. She slipped in closer, snapping off a few quick shots with her pistol to box him in before she reached pointblank. With that, she brought the saber in a slashing arc, tearing straight for the bastard's optics as she engaged.

Post by Katharyn Holcroft on Nov 7, 2014 4:08:11 GMT
The instant combat began, Katharyn felt her heart begin to race. She didn't know how many the enemy had out here, but if they were scurrying around Jaburo, and moreover if they were able to simultaneously engage Gaspar and Melchior teams, that means they had at least equal numbers, if not more.
They dove into the fray, and Katharyn felt the adrenaline pumping as she scanned the jungle through her monitors - her sensors, in the dense, Minovsky Particle-saturated jungle, being worse than useless. "Come on, you fuckers...get out here so that I can kill you..." She hissed through gritted teeth.
As if on cue, an enemy mobile suit - she instantly recognized one of those green GM-types - burst through the canopy not far from her, apparently retreating from one of the Marasais - she wasn't sure which. Given her junior rank and relative inexperience compared to the others, Katharyn had not been approached when the brass were looking for pilots for the Marasai...she wasn't sure if that wasn't a good thing. While it was better than that archaic piece of shit Hizack, it was still far too much like a Zaku for her personal taste. She had wondered what the hell had possessed the designers of the newer Titans models to emulate the designs of a group they were created to annihilate - a group that had, moreover, committed unspeakable atrocities during the One-Year War and afterwards.
Katharyn reacted instantly, raising her beam rifle, and opened fire, aiming for center mass.

Chuck had never had any expectations that his fire would score hits - he just wanted to give the chalk something to worry about so they didn't immediately cut him to pieces. He wasn't surprised in the least that he caught fire immediately - he was the first unit of the Zodics to walk into them - and he was taking fire accordingly. His earlier defensive actions had thankfully pushed him out of the quick-reaction fire the other group had pushed on him; slipping out of the mess that had been fired on him. He had to pull into a defensive peel - what with the one bastard hammering spray gun fire towards him - but he didn't take hits, or catch a round on his shield.
With that, he reoriented, snapping off another shot or two to cover the others as Steiner's orders came through. He couldn't help but let a thin smile as they got the first meaningful, tactical order in the three sorties he'd had with this crew. He saw the one new guy he'd already fired at pressing on the Kid. He bit his lip, already thinking of what happened to Emir, and that was not something he cared to repeat down here. "Petrenko, watch your ass, covering " he snapped out to her as he locked back in on his previous target.
With that, he elevated his rifle to battle sights and began pouring fire into the little prick, continuing to peel away as he opened and snaked around in accordance with Hilda's call. As he fired on Gage, he moved at a diagonal, opening up the distance while moving to slide onto the flank and catch the black legs in enfilade fire.

"Heh. Don't overdo it, Jaime." "Whenever have I done that?" Jaime asked without a hint of irony. Jaime ducked back behind the tree he had been using for cover and dropped his half-full clip before slapping in a new one. “Lieutenant, do we have any bright ideas? Because all I’ve got right now is trying to stay not dead.”
As if to punctuate that point, a bolt scorched around the top of tree, singeing it and send a spray of bark to play hell with his optics. Jaime backed up for a moment, only to be greeted by the machine from earlier charging him. “Oh fuck me!” Jaime swore, dropping his shield and reaching for a beam saber while instinctively ducking. Had his opponent been targeting his cockpit, he might have been in trouble, but his opponent had gone for a disabling shot instead of the kill. The opponent’s saber instead sliced into tree beside him, carving out a deep gouge. The next thought was probably not Jaime’s smartest. “Ohhhhh.” A small smile crossed his lips as Jaime tapped his thrusters to push him back a bit as he sliced with his own saber, cutting through the weakened portion of the tree, hoping that it would hit his opponent, or otherwise distract him. “TIIIIMBEEEER!”
