"Captain, you can't tell me you support this insanity. The shitbag lied to us, deliberately deceived us, and withheld information that, if he'd told us he was a former Feddy, could have helped a hell of a lot more than he did. And you're bloody rewarding him with a squadron full of shiny new mobile suits for that?" "It's not a reward nor a promotion. It's a grave responsibility. The AEUG does not have a deep pool of officers it can draw its ranks from. Furthermore, it's unambiguously clear that Jamitov wants him dead. Out in the field, I assure you that the his own loyalties are the last thing he's going to be considering. There is an enemy that exists to be subjugated, but not an enemy in an ideological sense. In regards to acts of loyalties and deceptions, the rest are just existing implications for down the line."

Jim's face was still stern as Eddy finally saw a semblance of reason. Yeah, if I had my druthers I'd get Ambrose up here as my second, but somehow I don't think you guys would like to see another ex-Titan. Even if the guy's a hell of a stick he thought. Besides, this guy isn't that bad. Just needs to be trained a little more he figured, nodding. "You can keep that piece of monoeyed crap, Eddy. I'm more than happy to hang onto my Rechts - thing handles almost just like the Quel I used to fly" he said, not bothering to disguise he used to fly what they were shooting at now. "Either way, you're doing the right thing in staying. The fuckers need to be put down. You're a pretty good stick, and with a little work you'll make a pretty good squad lead" he continued. OK, a lot of work, but he doesn't need to hear that right now. "You're staying as my second, Eddy. I don't trust someone like Steiner, whose entire file is blanked out by someone. Besides, she's not the best combat commander" he said with a tired smile. Two weeks in the brig'll leave you tired...

Eddy playfully took umbrage at Anderson’s comment about the Rick Dias being a ‘monoeyed piece of crap’. “Well, that ‘monoeyed piece of crap’ as you so bluntly put it managed to fight Ennis to a standstill, beat his shiny new mech to a pulp and come out of it with nary a scratch.” He wasn’t sure whether to take Anderson’s comment on his flying skills as a compliment or an insult, but he decided to keep quiet on that point and continue listening. He noticed that Anderson seemed to be feeling fatigued.
“Seeing as you probably haven’t had a drop in two weeks...” Eddy walked over to the desk, opened up one of the bottom drawers and picked up his bottle of absinthe and a pair of glasses. “And I still think the stuff in your flask is monkey’s piss...” He popped open the bottle and poured the glasses to about half-full before resealing the bottle and walking back, glasses in hand with one offered to Anderson. “And as much as I’d like a CAG that cuts down on the sauce, consider this my olive branch. Might as well indulge in something with kick, right?” His half-smile turned to a lively grin.

Anderson left after LeNoire, apparently leaving the rest of them to just do whatever they wanted while the triad convened, though he had to admit that he was surprised Anderson was even including Steiner. But after Anderson left, Steiner finally decided to speak up, first addressing Regard before turning to the Captain and making it clear she didn't like this any more than LeNoire did, though she didn't throw a hissy fit like he had, even if she was just replacing that with rage. She wasn't entirely wrong, but she should already know that she wasn't going to change anything, it was obvious that given what he knew the Captain felt that he could trust Anderson enough to do this, and he'd already made it clear that he was putting his foot down on this.
She had brought up Fred's original reason for wanting to talk to her, the new machines, but this obviously wasn't the time to talk about that, he had something even more stupid to do. "Lieutenant, I think it's obvious where this is all going for now. I felt the same way when we got placed under a Zeon officer, during the war I was in Australia after Operation British the last thing I wanted was to be following orders from you. But I sucked it up and dealt with it, because we're all here for the same thing and because the war is fucking over. Anderson is a dishonest asshole and while we can't trust him, we can trust that he knows what he's doing, he's not trying to get us killed, and that he's here for the same reason as the rest of us, to kill those pricks in the Titans. You don't want to be associated with what Zeon did, I get that, but as far as I know, you still worked for those Zabi fuckers till the war ended even with everything they'd done, yet here you are blaming everything the Titans did on Anderson even though he left. If you could follow the Zabis, what makes him worse?" He asked, not liking that he had been dumb enough to start talking, and even worse that he was dumb enough to finish, Steiner outranking him was bad enough, but the Captain was here too.
