Anderson’s defiance in the face of having his cover blown only served to further irritate Eddy. He couldn’t speak for Castle or Hilda, but they were probably feeling the same way, he thought.
“The only thing I’ll acknowledge is that you’re a hypocritical prick that entered our organization under a false identity which, I should mention, didn’t take Langstrom long to crack once I asked him to investigate. The fact you actively concealed your true identity and happen to belong to the group we’re fighting against is enough to consider you a flight risk.”
He stepped closer, looking right into Anderson’s eyes as he continued, a small smile coming to his face.
“I should also mention that Lieutenant Hilda here wanted to toss you out of the Audhumla at thirty thousand feet and call it a ‘tragic accident’. And as tempted as I was to let it slide, Captain Langstrom wants you brought back alive for questioning. I’ll feel better seeing you get roasted by a team of interrogators than hearing you scream as you fall into the ocean. But hey, at least you’ll still get better than what you and your ilk gave Colony 30.”
Eddy was taking a calculated risk here, bringing up the most infamous incident under the Titans’ belt. But I have to see how he reacts, even if it kills me.

Jim shrugged as Eddy ranted about his ID. Never really planned on being here; just kind of happened. The Finley thing was just the last name I wore before Ambrose got me word of Rick's murder he thought, staring right back down at Eddy. "Well, I guess it just didn't occur to me to go back to an old name - I left the Titans behind two years ago, Ensign" he said quietly, emphasizing the last rank Eddy had held in the Federation when he served in the field. "Didn't really hide it, and never really planned on doing much more than flying my bird and taking down a few of the fuckers before my ticket got punched; I wasn't anywhere near top form" he said, with another shrug and a pull on the flask.
He looked over at the Zeke bitch, smiling his own. "Gravity testing on the 'Titan', is it Steiner? Well, I can think of worse ways to go. Say, getting a colony dropped on your head, or having a nuke blow a hole in your colony. Zekes would know an awful lot about both" he said, ignoring the Thirty Bunch barb. He then let out a hearty chuckle and undid his gun belt, dropping the weapon on the deck as he slung up his flight back. "Well, I suppose if I'm brigged, I'm brigged. Shall we get on with it then? I'll take breakfast at seven" he offered, motioning towards the door.

Fred didn't really expect him to go along quietly, no one wanted to be locked in the brig after all, but Anderson was keeping it verbal rather than physical so that was something at least. He still didn't actually believe the man was a spy, partly because his record as a Titan apparently still existed, but mainly due to the fact that he'd have blown his cover, helped them get out and not gone back to the Titans. But he was still being rather difficult about it, Fred had been hoping that he'd explain himself but he seemed intent to piss everyone off, which would at best speed up his trip to the brig.
Though after Anderson brought up Zeon, Fred spared a glance toward Steiner, overall for a former Zeon she didn't seem too bad but he had to agree with Anderson about the Zeeks, they had indiscriminately killed many more people than the Titans, and being stationed where most of the colony struck didn't help, the difference was that the Titans were undermining everything the Federation had fought for in the war. "Not even going to explain yourself Chu....Anderson? Even if you're not working for the Titans, considering what we do know, you've got to admit that things look suspicious from our end." he said to the other man as he got ready to secure the weapon. He didn't want to treat Anderson as a hostile without a reason, but he wasn't about to try securing the weapon when Anderson was still right next to it.
Anderson was mocking them at this point and it was starting to piss Fred off, he was used to there simply being an enemy and allies after all, maybe he really would try punching him. For now though, no escalation seemed to be required, as Anderson seemed to be willing to go to the brig without making the situation worse at the moment. Spy or not, he was a security risk right now, even more so now that he'd been confronted on it.

How the fuck does he know that? Eddy kept up a good poker face, appearing completely nonplussed by Anderson’s casual mention of his rank prior to leaving the Federal Forces at the end of the war. Of course, he’d been promoted to a jay-gee as incentive to stay by Jamitov, but it didn’t take. Eddy had seen enough and done enough. If he thinks I regret leaving, he’s barking up the wrong tree.
Then, without skipping a beat, he had to resist the urge to facepalm as Anderson practically spiked the “please shoot me” ball as he prodded Steiner, reminding everyone of the infamy that Zeon’s initial actions of the One Year War still resonated. Eddy had to make sure that whoever escorted Anderson to the brig wouldn’t have the urge to beat him to a pulp or drop him out a door into the air.
Letting out a hefty sigh as he lowered his sunglasses over his eyes, Eddy chuckled as he decided to put an end to this farce. "Well, at least I know one thing that wasn’t an act: you being a disrespectful prick to almost everyone around you. Mr. Castle, would you and Mr. Regard escort Mr. Anderson to the brig, please? And I'd appreciate it if he gets there in one piece.”

Hilda smiled as Eddy and Castle both jumped at the chance to deal with the bastard. Castle raised some good points, and she nodded, motioning for him and Eddy to lead the way. He was EFA, probably knows his way around a fist fight she figured as she followed Eddy straight down to the cargo bay that the rat had taken shelter in, surprised to see Petrenko and Regard with him. Well, he seems to be sharing his booze. Course, little prick's gonna be singing a different tune soon she thought, smiling as Eddy laid out chapter and verse what his sins were.
Well said, Eddy she thought. She was less amused when the rat drew himself up and smiled right back, laying out a few reasons she was forced to admit made a case against putting iron to his head here and now. Even if the Titans are that crazy... she thought, wondering if the rumors were true. He then asserted his previous rank, and she visibly bristled at both that and his assertion that he was the better field leader. "I suppose if you were valiantly leading 'your' squadron to the pub after 'heroically' blowing apart civilian transports you'd make good leader, Black Leg" she snapped back. "Or just gassing them wholesale" she said, voice low after he brought up some of the more egregious sins committed by the Zeon fanatics. But those were the nutters like Gihren and Delaz. I'm not one of them she thought, completely unaware of the hypocrisy.
Eddy, thankfully, moved to close the issue by ordering the two other Feddies in the compartment to remove him. "Get this piece of shit out of my sight" she ordered, stepping off towards the Bridge to get back in touch with Lars. Or maybe talk with the Commander... she thought idly, fantasizing about dropping Anderson off the launch ramp...

LeNoire decided enough was enough and ordered he and Regard to bring Anderson to the brig, but not before he had been able to piss Steiner off again. She told them to get Anderson out of there before leaving herself. "Now look at what you did, you went and pissed her off even more. Since she can't get at you, she probably won't calm down till she beats something up now. Since I'm on her team, if she decides to use me as her punching bag, I'm going to punch you in the fucking face asshole." he said to Anderson, only half joking. Close physical contact with Steiner wasn't exactly something he'd complain about, but he'd rather walk away from it with all his teeth and blood.
"Well let's get going Anderson. Just don't make any sudden moves and all that, you should know how it goes. That is if you're ready Lieutenant Regard." Fred then moved over to secure Anderson's weapon, keeping his hand on his own holster to keep it shut so that his weapon couldn't be taken while he was busy simply out of habit, most of the time he'd needed to secure a weapon like this the owner wasn't cooperative after all. Besides, he already knew that Anderson at least knew some Krav Maga, while in comparison Fred only knew the stuff from his military training, but besides that he was a decent boxer if it came to that, he just hoped it wouldn't.
Once he got in arm's reach of the belt Anderson had dropped, Fred grabbed it from on the floor. "So after what Lieutenant LeNoire told me, do I need to worry about you attacking me over your drink? You know they won't let you keep it with you." regardless of everything else, the drinking at least had to be real.

Sure he wasn’t a Titan, Ben mused to himself, shrugging at Chuck’s attempt at keeping the charade going. Calling him out on it wouldn’t do much of anything beyond aggravating him and, admittedly, Ben hardly cared. He’d come clean about it sooner or later. “Eh, just call it an educated guess of mine,” he replied, noting the look in his eyes at the mention of Colony Thirty. It didn’t take much for him to put things together, not after seeing what happened to his own home back in ’79.
Though he would’ve liked to continue the discussion, the sound of the door opening made that unlikely as not just the flight leads walked in but Castle as well. Guess fun times are over. Looking back to Chuck, Jim rather, Ben hummed in interest as the former Titan started a showdown of sorts with both Steiner and LeNoire. Between dropping his original rank as a Lt Commander and an unsubtle jab at their inferiority as team leaders, it was a wonder he wasn’t pounced on by the pair.
He spared the leads a glance. Whether or not LeNoire was truly bothered by his jabs he couldn’t tell, he kept quite the poker face, but Steiner looked ready to rip him apart at the mention of Zeon’s own atrocities. It was no secret to Ben that she was a Zeke, not that she made any attempt to hide it, but whether or not she was actually involved, the mere mention of the gassings and colony drops got a rise out of her. Enough that she took off almost immediately once Eddy gave the order to toss their Titan friend into the brig.
“Alright, alright,” he said, standing up with a sigh. Time to get the show on the road before Steiner had a lapse in judgment and vented her anger on Anderson. Thankfully he wasn’t making much of a fuss about his new housing. Almost seemed like he enjoyed the prospect of some alone time. “Were you a joy in the Titans too, Jimbo?”

Jim shrugged as Castle asked why he wasn't defending himself. "I'm here now, Castle, and I know how the script ends, so kill some more of the fucking Black Legs for me" he said with another shrug. He looked back at Eddy as the guy made sure he arrived alive. "Thanks for trying, Eddy, but I'll bet Langstrom wants me alive on the Polaris so he can personally chuck me out an airlock. Just one of those little joys the Zekes like" he said shaking his head now that Steiner had departed.
A wry grin crossed his face as Castle threatened physical harm. "Please try, Castle, I could use the practice" he said with a wink. Regard then gave him a shove out the door, and like a good, compliant prisoner. He shrugged as Fred suggested taking his stash. "Wouldn't bother trying, Fred. You don't want to spend the night in Med bay, and I don't want to put you there" he said in a plain, factual tone. He turned back to Regard, smiling again as they reached the Brig. "Of course, I'm just a natural joy to work with" he said, tossing his flight bag into the Brig as he stepped in. "See you two around, kill some of the bastards for me after Langstrom ices me, and watch your ass around all these damned Zekes" he said in a deadly serious tone as he locked himself in.

Anderson seemed to be under the impression that Langstrom simply wanted to kill him personally, which considering Steiner's reaction to what she'd been told Fred doubted that was true, but he only heard one side of that conversation so he didn't know for sure. "Of course we'll kill some of them for you. The good thing about you being gone is you won't be able to make the rest of us look bad anymore." Anderson than warned not to try taking his drink, which Fred wasn't eager to attempt since the other man was obviously more confident in his abilities than Fred was.
Once he was locked in his cell Anderson said to watch themselves around the Zekes, "No argument here Chuck. Oops, I mean Lt. Commander Anderson. Though even if she's a Zeke, in Steiner's case I'd rather be watching her ass than mine." he said, trying to keep the overall mood up, not wanting to comment on Langstrom wanting to kill Anderson himself. As much as he hated the Titans, the Zekes were worse and he wasn't thrilled at working with them, but the ones he knew hadn't given him real reason to dislike or distrust them. He hadn't worked with that many, only the three that were attached to his team here in the A.E.U.G.

“They don’t know what they’re missing,” he said as Anderson locked himself into his new home, the possibility of a scuffle out the window with such a willing prisoner. A good thing too if his words were anything to go by. Ben could handle himself in a pinch but if Anderson knew some moves from his Titan days, he had a feeling he’d regret taking him on. Probably get embarrassed in five seconds flat. Ben smirked at Castle’s comment, “I’ll bet. She’s gonna run us ragged before we get a real break…You just sit tight, Jim. You’ve hung around this long, no sense ruining a good thing. Be out before you know it.”

Jim slid onto the bunk, sliding his flight back under the thing as Castle and Regard said their pieces. Nice to see these boys think that its all fun and games, working with the Zekes. That damned 'Geist Cell' Steiner seems to have been a part of isn't anything I've heard of, and I was hunting the damned Zekes for two long years. If I haven't heard of it, bitch has to be black ops he mused, looking back up at the peephole to Castle and Regard. "See that you kill the bastards, Castle. And learn to fly defensive before you get a real bad case of dead" he said to the offense-minded former ground pounder. Turning to Regard, he just shrugged. "Steiner and Langstrom will let me out soon all right - out of the Polaris without the benefit of a suit" he said, shrugging. "Now go run and play nice with the Zekes" he said, rolling over and digging into his flight bag.
They'd be shitting kittens if they knew I still had Great-Grandad's 1911 in here he thought with a smirk as his hand closed around the two things he wanted. Pulling them out, he clutched the two keepsakes of his time in the Titans that he hadn't been able to part with. One was an old photograph of a dozen pilots in gear, showing a much younger and happier-looking Jim in the flight suit of a Titans Lieutenant, everyone clustered around his Quel and making him look like the man. That was right after I vaped that Zeke bastard Wolfe. Good kill, and more importantly a clean kill. Crazy mothers were trying to nuke civvies... he thought as he glanced at the medal he'd been awarded later in the brutal campaign against Luger's battle group. How we missed a Zanzibar and five Musais I don't know, but the prick was good. Of course, we were better... he thought, thinking back to 'the Red Christmas' over Side Two, and how the Marsa Allan group had kept Luger from dropping his nuke on a civilian colony. Of course, if that idiot Nanaki hadn't gotten dead so fast... he wondered, recalling how the replacement CO had charged straight in and been vaped in seconds, leaving Jim in command of the mobile wing. Did OK with that one... he figured, glancing again at the four-point silver cross hanging from a plain ribbon of blue. Distinguished Gallantry Cross... second highest award for valor in the Federal Forces. Plus that grandstanding title of 'Dominator Rebellum' that Jamitov gave me for smacking the shit out of the rebels. Fuck... he thought, thinking back to when he knew what - and who - he was fighting for. And then Bask the Bastard went and did Thirty Bunch...

"Lieutenant Steiner- I'd like to have a word with you."
A man in a red uniform was waiting out in the hallway- leaning against the wall adjacent to the exterior windows. He was waiting for her. Looks like the Lieutenant was not one to keep his nose out of things. The rims of his glasses were lowered- exposing his piercing blue eyes. Quattro's tone was informal- implying they were both familiar with each other already. He didn't hesitate to get to the point.
"I'd like to have a talk with that pilot you just threw in the brig. This is out of my jurisdiction, but I have a feeling."
A vague reason for a big request. He was also famous for being nebulous, albeit empathetic.

Hilda's trademark scowl was fixed to her face as she traversed the halls of the Audhumla. Just like a Black Leg to ruin my day. Who the hell does he think he is? she asked herself as she looked for Commander Quattro. She rounded a corner and found herself face to face with him, and the man was already asking questions about Anderson. A thin smile tugged at her mouth as she wondered how he'd always managed to do that. "Well sir, not sure what you want to talk with him about. He's a damned Titan. Langstrom wants to talk with him when we get back, but if I know the Captain, it'll just be to ask him if he prefers the right ear or the left for the bullet in the head" she offered, a shark's grin on her face. "And its good to see you again, sir" she said, not offering any more specifics than that they'd previously served together to any wandering ears...

We continually change our ways and means in order to adapt to whatever demands the times bring us. I can say for certain that the world isn't what it was ten years ago, nor me being the man I was once was. Let me see what he thinks. Let me see what he truly believes. Then I can for certain whether this man is either a fool or a traitor."The crimson pilot mirrored Hilda's grin. "And likewise, Lieutenant."

Hilda listened as the Commander went into a speech. She couldn't help but smile as he did. Just like him to say something like that. He sure isn't the same, but how can he even think to defend Anderson? I mean, the fucker is was a squadron commander for the Titans; that's the kind of experience the AEUG is desperate for. If he'd not hidden it, that's one thing, but the fact that he joined under false pretenses? Spy. Has to be she thought, just shrugging as he launched into it. "Maybe" she offered. "I still say if he wasn't still a Black Leg, he'd have copped to it right away. You have one like that now on the Argama if I saw your AAR correctly" she continued, not really sure what else to say.
"But who am I to keep you from having a word with him. Shall we?" she finished, motioning towards the Brig.
