Character
Name: Julian Miller
Faction: Titans
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Birthday: April 15th
Blood Type: A+
Ethnicity: Caucasian (Australian)
Character Paradigm: Steamroller
Specialty: Brawler
Description
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 230 lbs
Hair Color and Style: His blonde hair often appears rather wild and unkempt however this is more due to its natural appearance rather than any lack of trying to keep it together.
Eye Color: Blue
Identifying Marks: N/A
Skin Tone: Caucasian
Build: Julian has the physique one would expect of a soldier. His body is well defined and muscular, the result of long hours of training. He has dedicated his life to the military and desires to be ready to defend himself anywhere and everywhere, even when not in a Mobile Suit. Still his features have maintained a boyish quality to them that bely his rugged lifestyle.
Clothing: More often than not, Julian is seen wearing the standard uniform of the Titans. As a soldier to the core his uniform is always kept in immaculate condition as if he always prepared for a "parade ground" inspection. He will wear the standard beret of the Titans from time to time but more often than not leaves his head bare. His normal suit is likewise the Titans' standard though the side of his helmet bears the symbol of a medieval-style red Griffon, the icon he has carried since the One Year War.
Family
Mother: Joan Miller [Deceased]
Father: Edward Miller [Deceased]
Siblings: N/A
Fiance: Caroline Thomson [Deceased]
Personality
Julian has always been considered a bit of an odd duck. While generally known as a kind individual, he has a calm demeanor which can sometimes border on emotionless or apathetic. Underneath all of this lies a bed of extreme intensity for once Julian has decided to accomplish something there is nothing that will stop him from doing so. His concentration on an objective can sometimes border on being an obsession, something that people have worried about with him before. Still, none can question Julian's dedication to those on his team and he often takes on a somewhat paternal/mentor-like role with his subordinates. This is not to say that he sees himself as above them, however. On the contrary, rank means nothing to Julian and he sees all his teammates as equals.
Since the death of his Mother and Fiance, and later that of his Father, Julian has begun to go to a dark place in his mind. A former hatred of Zeon transformed into harsh feelings towards all Spacenoids. In his mind most if not all of them are culpable for the chaos and death that has engulfed the Earth Sphere since 0079. He sees his membership in the Titans as the best way that he can eradicate the remnants of Zeon and ensure that the people of Earth are never threatened with annihilation ever again.
History
Julian comes from a military family and thus it was always in his blood to fight. In fact, his family's history in combat can even be traced back to the World Wars of the Anno Domini period. With this in mind his parents were only fully supportive when Julian joined up with the Earth Federation military out of High School. From his first day in basic, Julian could not have been happier. Most of his life before then had passed by as one massive grey blur, an endless boring monotony with the young man having felt no real purpose.
This all changed in the cockpit of an FF-S3 Saberfish. Whether it was flying in the skies of Earth or the void of space, Julian felt truly free for the first time and at peace with himself. It was during this time that Julian met his closest friend, Harry Shields. Forming a deep bond with his comrade, the two of them had a natural chemistry together that made them superb pilots and the pride of their squadron. Now all that Julian needed was an enemy to fight against.
The outbreak of the One Year War gave him that chance. Stationed on a patrol fleet during the infamous struggle that would become known as the One Week Battle, Julian's squadron was preparing to sortie and he was having one last video chat with his fiance and Mother living in Sydney when suddenly the feed cut out. While at first he had believed it was due to Minovsky Particle interference that made long range communication notoriously unstable, it was only later that he learned the truth. The call had been cut off because Zeon had dropped a colony on his hometown. His mother and the love of his life were gone, wiped from existence by the destruction the falling colony left behind.
Julian was never the same after this tragedy and his life became fully dedicated to ensuring that Zeon paid for what they did. Hard work and dedication saw him become his squadron's top pilot, taking down 4 Mobile Suits (3 with the help of his friend, Harry) during the Battle of Loum. It was because of his efforts and accomplishments that he was eventually reassigned to Earth.
It was there that he was drafted into the Federation's experimental Mobile Suit program at the behest of his father, an Admiral within the EFSF. Personally he couldn't have been more proud. He took to piloting a Mobile Suit eagerly along with the last remaining member of his original unit, Harry, seeing it as the best way for him to get revenge the people who had murdered his loved ones. The transition from piloting a fighter-craft to a bipedal mech was certainly a hard one but Julian wouldn't be discouraged.
His first experience of Mobile Suit vs. Mobile Suit combat came at the Battle of Odessa. Working alongside Harry, Julian and his GM Ground Type worked with their comrades to smash apart the Zeon defenses and earned one of the Federation's first victories over the Spacenoid invaders. He then found himself transferred to the North American front where he was placed in charge of a unit belonging to the 232nd Mobile Corps.
With a new team to command, Julian fought his way across the American continent, fighting fierce battles in places like New York, Chicago and Las Vegas. He was present for the final assault on California Base, Zeon's last stronghold on Earth, Julian and his team being instrumental in taking out a few of the outposts that dotted the California coast.
Julian then found himself transferred up into space to finally bring the fight to Zeon's homeland. Though he was not present during the attack on Solomon, he was there for the ferocious battle of A Baoa Qu. Out of the five members of his team that deployed into that final battle only he, Harry and one other survived the conflict. Julian felt somewhat cheated when he was notified of the treaty that allowed the Republic of Zeon to retain its autonomy, believing that it wasn't fair that the people of Side 3 were spared the suffering they had inflicted on the people of Earth, but the weariness of his comrades and himself made him keep such thoughts to himself.
The next few years saw Julian and what was left of his team assigned to a task force under the command of his father. They would find themselves travel throughout the various Sides that orbited the Earth, hunting down Zeon Remnants whenever they dared to threaten the peace that had come about after the end of the One Year War. Slowly but surely the intense feelings of hatred that had threatened to consume Julian began to subside, finally having the proper time to mourn and come to terms with the death of his love and mother.
That was when Operation Stardust began. While he had first thought very little of the Delaz Fleet's little war, Julian was greeted with a harsh taste of reality during the Naval Review. A blinding flash of light engulfed the Federation's main fleet, the tremors that shook the ship he was stationed on knocking him unconscious. He awoke hours later aboard a portion of the Salamis that still had oxygen and was eventually rescued by ships involved in recovery efforts.
By then the fighting was over, the Zeon Remnants having been wiped out by the superior numbers of the Federation. Still this realization brought Julian no joy. As he looked over the casualty reports from the nuclear attack on the Naval Review, Julian found the names of his father and his team, including his closest friend Harry, among those counted as dead but unrecovered.
By now any sympathy Julian had for the spacenoids was gone. They had harbored the Zeon Remnants for far too long and had enabled things like Operation Stardust to occur. They needed to be put in their place, to have the kid gloves taken off, if true peace was to be occurred. It was this mindset that Julian found himself recruited into the new elite unit known as the Titans, his father having been a close compatriot of Admiral Jamitov and Captain Bask Om. He sees the AEUG as nothing more than a mask which the Remnants of Zeon are wearing so that they can continue to fight against the Earth Federation and throw the Earth Sphere into chaos. He sees his membership in the Titans as the best way to ensure vengeance for all those he had cared about who had died.
